Don't you just love Mexican skulls? A calaca is a figure of a skull or skeleton commonly used for decoration during the Day of the Dead festival, although they are made throughout the year. As with other aspects of the Day of the Dead festival, the skulls are generally depicted as reasons for joy rather than figures of sorrow. They are often shown wearing festive costumes, dancing and playing musical instruments to indicate a happy life in the afterlife. This aspect stems directly from the Mexican belief that no dead soul likes to be remembered as sad, and that death should be a happy event. Combined with blue napa, you will give a fun and colorful touch to your walks or to transport your objects to class, the pool or the gym.
