Refined in the Netherlands The processing of the shea butter starts at the source in Ghana, just like the unrefined variety. The raw shea butter is refined in the Netherlands. Refining takes place at ZOR, Europe's No. 1 contract refinery. No chemicals are used in this process. After refining, the butter is white and odorless.
