Love of retro and a nostalgic line are the hallmarks of Mouse & Pen's popular posters and illustrations. Helle lets her personality shine through clearly in her drawings. The various posters are drawn with a slight skew and a nice naivety that radiates joy to life, positivity and lots of smiles in everyday life.
Helle has been drawing all her life and has always been fascinated by the children's book universe. Artists such as Christel, Ole Lund Kirkegaard (Orla Frøsnapper) Ilon Wikland (Astrid Lindgreen) Cicely Mary Barker (Flower Fairies) Beatrix Potter (Peter Kanin) have been sources of inspiration for Helle's drawing style.
The story of Mouse & Pen Illustration began in late 2015, when Helle began drawing posters to sell them to the city's many tourists. The first posters were put up for sale on the majestic staircase in front of the family's beautiful town house from 1790 in the heart of historic Ebeltoft. Passers-by were quickly very gripped by the unique mood and life-affirming messages of Helle's motifs, and the posters were torn away. In 2016, local stores began to show great interest in Helle's posters. "I was overwhelmed by the huge interest from the many cool stores that would suddenly carry my posters". The success was unmistakable. The stores reported massive interest in Helle's posters, and they were sold almost as quickly as they were put on the shelf in the store Since then, 170 stores throughout Denmark and 50 abroad have joined the Mouse & Pen family, and the dream of creating their own business has thus come true.
Mouse & Pen is today a family-run company based in the town hall in Ebeltoft and the concept store in Adelgade 4, Ebeltoft.
