Large capiz cup in the shape of a conch

Large capiz cup in the shape of a conch. Width 47 Height 17.5 Depth 30cm. The shell used is a nacreous shell (Placuna Placenta) commonly called ''capiz''. It is picked up in South East Asia and worked by hand. To be shaped, it is baked, bleached, pressed on moulds, dried, polished, colored and finally coated with protective layers. This cup cannot be washed in the dishwasher.
