Oskar Schlemmer - Triadic Ballet

In 1922, Oskar Schlemmer, a painter, sculptor and designer associated with the Bauhaus, created the Triadic Ballet to the music of Hindemith, a choreographic work of rationalist dance in which he transformed the dancers into real geometric figures. The costumes, which contained no ornamentation, were inspired by the three geometric shapes of circle, square and triangle; the ballet was divided into three acts, the protagonists were three dancers: the number three as a recurring element, already in the title.
