Organic Prickly Pear Seed Oil

Coming from a Moroccan cooperative, Nadolia's Prickly Pear Seed Oil comes from organic and responsible farming. It is 100% pure and natural, virgin. It is obtained by first cold pressing, without any chemical treatment. Our prickly pear oil contains 82% unsaturated fatty acids: 62% linoleic acid, 19.4% oleic acid and 1% palmitic acid. The rest is made up of saturated fatty acids: palmitic acid 13%, stearic acid 3.5%. Polyunsaturated fatty acids play an important role in the fluidity of membranes, the reduction of water loss through the epidermis and the prevention of skin aging. In addition to its physico-chemical qualities, it is very quickly absorbed by the epidermis, its texture and touch are extremely velvety. Its vitamin E content slows down skin aging by protecting cell membranes. Indeed, cell membranes are made up of polyunsaturated fatty acids, which are very sensitive to oxidation. An ancestral harvest by hand We work with a Moroccan cooperative that does not use a machine for harvesting. It takes nearly a ton of fruit to produce 1 liter of prickly pear oil. The manufacturing process is very long and requires a large and skilled workforce: You have to pick the fruits, peel them, separate the seeds from the pulp, wash and dry the seeds and finally cold press.
