The unwanted aftermath of shaving and waxing like bumps, rashes, spots or ingrown hair are usually caused by inflammation in the skin and uncontrolled microbial infections. The action of hair removal also strips off some of the protective layers from the skin, making it more vulnerable to moisture loss and dryness. Contained within the Aftershave Oil plant oils are made of unique combinations of fatty acids, which support the skin’s natural function, especially its hydro-lipidic layer, responsible for keeping our skin well moisturised. Oils control the escape of hydration increasing the skin’s smoothness and elasticity. Moreover, by strengthening the skin’s barrier, plant oils contribute to the reduction in inflammation – reducing sensitivity and rashes. One of the stars in our Aftershave Oil – the Tamanu oil – has long been known for its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, allowing the skin to calm down and preventing the development of unwanted infections. Applied to wounds, Tamanu oil speeds up the creation of new skin cells, accelerating the healing process. The organic glycerine contained in the Aftershave Oil is one of the strongest humectants on the planet, meaning that it is incredibly effective in binding to water molecules and driving them deep into the skin. Our skin cells are swelling up with this hydration, which makes them more elastic and gives them a smoother texture. Organic glycerine can also help to regulate the natural exfoliation process of your skin, as shedding of the skin cells is directly linked to the levels of moisture within it: the more hydrated the skin, the better we get rid of the dead skin cells and the smoother our skin is. THE METHOD Shake the bottle well before use. Directly after shaving or waxing, apply a small amount (e.g. 2-3 drops for the face) of the Oil onto wet skin.
