A new beginning...
I am a 48 year old mother of three wonderful children. Since 2005, I have been an administrative assistant in the civil service, a job that has brought me stability but no daily personal satisfaction. Today, I want to share with you a very personal story, a story that is at the origin of my new adventure: Nelflow!
An unexpected upheaval
In 2021, my life was turned upside down. After years of intense pressure at work, I suffered a burnout. It was an extremely difficult time, where I felt completely overwhelmed by stress and exhaustion. As if that wasn't enough, two days later I was diagnosed with breast cancer. The world collapsed beneath my feet. Between medical consultations, treatments, and the announcement of a mastectomy with immediate reconstruction by DIEP, I went through an incredibly difficult period, full of doubts and fears.
A Period of Reflection
During my convalescence, I had time to reflect deeply on my life, my priorities, and my aspirations. I had always dreamed of starting a business, of creating something that had meaning and could help others, but I didn't know in which field or how to go about it. And then, a recurring situation with my daughter sparked an idea in me.
The idea of Nelflow
My daughter, like many teenagers and women, suffers from nocturnal leaks during her periods. Every month it was the same scenario: stained sheets, extra laundry, and discomfort for my daughter despite all possible protections. This situation gave me an idea: why not create a mattress pad that is attractive, absorbent, waterproof and comfortable?
The Birth of Nelflow
I started researching the different options available on the market. I quickly realized that there had to be a better solution than the noisy, unsightly mattress pads that are often found. This is how the idea for Nelflow was born: to create mattress pads that are not only pretty and absorbent, but also waterproof and comfortable. I wanted to design a product that met the real needs of women and girls, a product that would allow them to feel comfortable and confident during their periods.
The path to creation
Discouraged by what I found on the market, I decided to take matters into my own hands. I explored the possibility of working with a French workshop to make my mattress protectors using Oeko-Tex and REACH certified fabrics, thus guaranteeing quality and compliance with environmental standards. I collaborated with local suppliers and passionate seamstresses to create perfect prototypes before launching production of my finished products.
An adventure full of discovery
Each step of this project was an adventure in itself, full of challenges but also of beautiful discoveries. I learned so much about the manufacturing process, about running a business, and about myself. Today, I am proud to introduce you to Nelflow. Each mattress pad is designed with love and care, with the aim of making your daily life a little simpler and a lot more comfortable.
A symbol of renewal and determination
My journey, although strewn with pitfalls, has taught me resilience and perseverance. It allowed me to transform a personal ordeal into an opportunity to create something positive and useful for others. Nelflow is more than a company to me, it is a symbol of renewal and determination.
