Artist Jeanne Vicerial and perfumer Nicolas Beaulieu have combined their sensibilities to create the framework for an olfactory work. “Is it because they are made of a single thread? Despite their technical complexity, I find a certain readability in Jeanne's works. So I wanted a rather short formula, also very readable. This perfume has a talismanic, purifying side, it protects us and makes us feel good. I structured it around two complementary blocks. On the one hand, a smoky woodiness in which a palo santo accord is recreated thanks to sandalwood from New Caledonia, vetiver from Java – both from LMR – and Menthaflor, which, with cypress essence, expresses the aromatic facet of wood. On the other hand, there is this aromatic bouquet evolving towards the burnt, with a base reminiscent of burnt white sage, composed from clary sage, common sage, a little styrax and birch tar. Then the LMR turmeric leaf essence, combined with gentian and mastic, brings a rather invigorating bitter green note, which contrasts with the woody tone. Armoressence is not an intellectual fragrance, it is a fragrance of feeling.”
