Osmanthus, whose fragrant flower is commonly called "osmanthus", is a tree native to Southeast Asia which is now cultivated mainly in China. Its flowers, whose color varies depending on the variety, once autumn comes, release a sweet scent, reminiscent of both apricot and tea. In perfumery, the absolute obtained after extraction of the petals is one of the rare natural materials to present a fruity note, combined with a leathery facet which makes it so unique.
