"Food supplement aimed at filling iodine deficiencies. Additional information Tyrosine is a precursor of thyroid hormones. It contributes by combining with iodine to the production of T4 (thyroxine), which is the precursor hormone of T3 (triiodothyronine). Iodine is therefore essential for the synthesis of these hormones. When TSH increases and simultaneously T4 and therefore T3 decrease, we speak of functional hypothyroidism, when these values reach the limit of the norm. It is then very often a question of iodine deficiency which no longer allows the thyroid to produce the hormone despite the pituitary stimulation of TSH. Iodine must be measured in the urine to prevent this very frequently present functional hypothyroidism, a source of complications (rebellious obesity, constipation, hair loss, etc.). Iodine has a fundamental action in the fetus, since thyroid hormones control cell growth and maturation and participate in brain development. It regulates thermogenesis to stabilize body temperature around 37°, and participates in energy metabolism. Selenium aims to improve the intestinal absorption of iodine. Iodine deficiency is very common."
