With aluminum we rely on a long service life. In addition, aluminum is highly recyclable and, when recycled, saves 95% of the energy normally used in the production of metals. We decided against glass because glass in the bathroom represents a major source of danger due to its fragility. Tinplate was excluded from our considerations because it rusts quickly and is therefore not suitable for storing a damp shampoo bar. A plastic can was never an option for us because we will not circulate any plastic. About 8 million tons of plastic end up in the sea every year and that is far too much.
