They serve as hygiene protection and can be used as travel sheets or sleeping bag liners. There is a practical slot for the pillow on the underside of the head. If you don't have a pillow handy, you can put a thick jacket or sweater in there and use it as a pillow. You can connect the "red" and "blue" variants with a zip and use them as a double sleeping bag. In the "blue" variant, the zipper is on the left side (when lying inside), in the "red" variant it is on the right side.
