Isaac Newton discovered in 1667 that light is made up of these seven colors. Gilbert Baker made them a flag three centuries later, in the 1960s, with the hippie movement. Today it represents the LGBTQ+ movement, and it's still one of the first things we all learn to draw as kids. What more can you ask of a rainbow? Being able to do it with your own hands, obviously.
