Sueño White Earrings

Product story These unique and elegant earrings were made by members of the indigenous Wounaan community living in the forest of the department of Chocó, located in the northwest of Colombia. The Wounaan are known in the handicraft sector in Colombia for making vessels from werregue, a plant that grows in the Colombian Pacific. They are currently using the versatility of this fiber along with silver and other gold-plated metals to create fashion accessories. To make this type of piece, the craftsmen use spiral weaving, a technique that consists of using a main cord called “soul” around which are woven colored threads taken from the werregue.
