Tou Koutaliou Chios Mandarin - Traditional Greek sweet preserve

“Tou koutaliou” stands for sweets served by spoon in Greece. An aromatic explosion! The unique and rare mandarin variety that grows only on Chios Island at Kampos , differs from the clementine variety, in shape but most importantly it differs due to its intense aroma and strong flavor. In the past, Chiots wrapped those mandarins on paper printed with the producer’s logo one by one, before they were exported , as they were considered a precious and unique gift to offer to someone. This delectable fruit was recently recognised by the European Commission and granted Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) under the trademark Mandarini Chiou.
