Like all cymbopogons, Java lemongrass is an herb native to Indonesia that has long, narrow leaves, equally linear stems and inflorescences. Lemongrass are large perennial, wild or cultivated herbs from tropical regions: Java, Sri Lanka… Its fresh, green, lemony smell is similar to that of lemon balm for which it is sometimes substituted.
