Dolomite is a mineral of calcium and magnesium bicarbonate, which contributes an average proportion of 30% calcium and 22% magnesium of its total weight. Easily assimilated, dolomite is used in the treatment of osteoporosis due to its content of two vital minerals for bone health: calcium and magnesium. Magnesium facilitates the fixation of calcium to the bones and avoids the adverse effects that sometimes occur when consuming calcium alone (calcification of tendons, harmful accumulations of calcium in the joints...). Osteoporosis is a much more frequent ailment in women because from menopause the estrogen deficit causes bone mass to be lost by up to 5% each year.
