Pura accessories are made of 100% medical grade silicone. Silicone is a natural material; it contains no plastic, latex, or BPA. Sterilize before first use. Pura bottle teats have a patented anti-colic system that provides continuous pressure and prevents air intake while drinking to prevent colic. The teats have been developed to mimic the variable flow rate of breastfeeding, this is partly done because there are several holes in the teat. Pura bottle spouts have been developed in accordance with the advice of leading pediatricians to support the natural development of teeth and gums. The top of the Pura spout is reinforced to resist the biting instincts of growing toddlers. Pura bottles can be used to freeze milk. Use the silicone sealing disk for this. Do not overtighten the cap or overfill the bottle. Overfilling the bottle can cause it to deform. This is because the liquid expands when it freezes. (No more than 300ml in the 325ml bottle). You can also hand wash them with a mild soap and bottle and teat brush. Avoid using harsh cleaning agents as they can damage the silicone parts. Accessories will last longer if they are gently cleaned by hand. Pura products can also be sterilized. To do this, place the bottle and accessories in boiled water for 5-10 minutes, after the pan has been removed from the heat and the water is no longer actively boiling. Silicone parts can also be sterilized in the microwave. Note: the travel cap does not ensure 100% leak tightness, keep the bottle upright or use the sealing disc.
