Let’s imagine a knight of high rank of the King’s court, one of those knights who are mentioned in the Arthurian legends. After a youth of of excesses, the knight Galgano chose to start a penitent hermit life. The culminating moment is when Galgano, arrived on the hill of Montesiepi, planted his sword in the ground. This story clearly echoes that of the Arthurian myth. This has generated curiosity and, obviously, some bold hypothesis about possible connections with the legend of the Round Table.
