Handwoven long silk scarf made of Peace Silk / wild silk black and white patterned - Abstract

This unique shawl is made from Tussah silk. It is a kind of wild silk that is obtained as Faire Seide / Peace Silk. In contrast to conventional silk processing, the caterpillars that spin the silk cocoons continue their life after metamorphosis as moths. The Tussah silk has a special "grainy" surface. The fabric feels crisp and gets softer with wear. The natural golden shimmer of Tussah silk can be seen in the undyed areas. This shawl features black asymmetric faces that look like abstract letters assembling into a modern work of art. The design was created using the block printing technique, in which carved blocks of wood are used to transfer the desired pattern onto the textile surface. It is one of the traditional printing techniques in India. The yarn was spun by hand and processed into a scarf on hand looms. The weave is fine and noble. This combines traditional manufacturing methods with a modern graphic design. This symbiosis makes this cloth a real work of art. Silk is also a very tear-resistant fiber that is durable. It not only gives the scarf its elegant shine, but also has the great property of temperature regulation, so that the scarf has a cooling effect in summer and a warming effect in winter. Whether for a special occasion or in everyday life - this scarf is a real eye-catcher. Her work has been exhibited and celebrated at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, among others. Please note that the actual colors may differ slightly from the computer display.
