ARRIVAL CHAIR

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION The ARRIVAL CHAIR is a compact, stackable wooden chair made from beech plywood. The plywood panels are manufactured in the southern Czech Republic and carry the PEFC certificate, which stands for products from sustainable forest management. Compared to solid wood, plywood is stronger and more durable and allows parts of a tree to be used that are unsuitable for solid wood furniture. To protect sensitive floors and to reduce noise, the chair legs are equipped with plastic glides. The wooden surface is protected by a matt transparent layer of varnish. DESIGN DRAFT The design of the chair focuses on its manufacture and allows us to understand how wood became a piece of seating furniture. All parts of the ARRIVAL CHAIR are milled from plywood with a 3-axis CNC milling machine. Due to its special design, the chair can be manufactured from backrest to foot in a few simple steps with just one machine. This makes it possible to work with small regional companies that produce the ARRIVAL CHAIR in Austria in small series.
