Soft and light meditation cushion filled with Kapok. Kapok is a product of the kapok tree. A tuft of soft fibres forms from the ripe fruits of the kapok tree. Kapok is eight times lighter than cotton, has good shape and is firmer than down. The kapok tree (Ceiba pentandra) is a tropical tree species. The species is native to South America, Central America, the Caribbean and tropical West Africa. The kapok tree grows to over 70 m tall and has a fairly thick, bottle-shaped trunk. The branches of the kapok tree are perpendicular to the trunk. A tuft of white cotton wool protrudes from the egg-shaped fruits: the kapok. The pappus is formed by the soft fibres, which consist of the hairs on the seeds. The seed fluff is used, among other things, as a filling for cushions and vests.
