Some of them are kilims, flat-woven wool carpets with the typical "kilim slit". Others are sumak, flat-woven rugs with an embroidered look on the front and loose ends on the back. Originally, kilims and sumaks were multifunctional, used in front of doors, to cover camels or horses, or as tent roofs, to cover dining tables or to sleep on. These carpets have been well maintained or refurbished.
