The design comes from the province of Nain in central Iran near the Dasht-e Kavir salt desert. Nain are known for their white/beige and light blue/dark blue color scheme. The pile is a blend of wool and mercerized cotton, which is soft with a beautiful shine. The intricate designs are based on miniature paintings and decorations. Dominant motifs are arabesques, vines, flowers, leaves and medallions.
