A group of painters from the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, wishing to free their paintings from the demands of realism, by using pure and vivid colors.

The best known of this movement is a certain Gauguin.
Paul Ranson is also the founder of an academy that bears his name, which he opened in Paris in 1908.

He advocates a less elitist art (the school is open to all), more instinctive and free, in opposition to the very classical approach of the great schools like the Beaux-arts of Paris.

Printed on 220G light ivory laid paper.
Handcrafted prints are made in our workshop in La Rochelle.
