Sarbacane: 20 years of creation!
A creative publishing house, Sarbacane was founded by Frédéric Lavabre in 2003, with a catalog of books initially dedicated to children's albums, which stand out for the importance given to narration, reflection and aesthetics.
EThen expanding its publications to early learning and albums for older children, with the flagship collection of Great Illustrated Classics, the company further shifted the boundaries by launching its powerful label of teen-adult novels Exprim’ in 2005, which met with great success.
The comic strip, with graphic novels with a literary dimension and strong personality carried by unique authors, appeared the following year; then in 2014, it was the turn of the piquant collection of humor and adventure for 8-12 year olds, Pépix, to confirm the eclecticism of the production and its desire for accessibility.
Twenty years later, with more than 900 active titles and a close-knit, responsive and passionate team of fifteen people, Sarbacane is recognized in the publishing landscape for the literary and graphic quality of its catalog.
She continues her quest for sensitive and innovative texts and strongly embodied characters, always paying particular attention to the text-image relationship, and prioritizing above all... creation!
Placing authors and illustrators at the heart of its creation and always keen to highlight new voices, Sarbacane carefully supports each of them and is happy to publish numerous talents, who have enriched the house's three catalogues over the years: the Album, the Youth Novel and the Comic Book.
