We use sortings of selected quality from the Baltic Sea. Because of its natural robustness, seagrass has been used for centuries as a cushioning material and for roofing. It is very durable and fungus resistant. We hand-pick it, soak it in natural rubber milk, dry it and heat it. With the rubber impregnation, it meets today's standards in the living and sleeping areas. Seagrass fillings are therefore dust-free and the curled structure and elasticity of the grass are strengthened and stabilized. In terms of its mild cushioning effect, seagrass with rubber is somewhere between feathers and horsehair. It is also available as a purely plant-based alternative. The maximum air permeability and optimal heat balance ensure the highest level of sleeping comfort. Due to their comparatively low weight, these pillows are very handy. Care: You can wash the seagrass fillings up to 60° C, preferably poured into a special laundry net. As with wool, washing can be done by hand in a water bath. As the machine rotates, the filling sometimes rolls into small balls, which should be plucked up again before drying. The filling dries best in air and sun, but can also be tumble dried. Please ensure that it is completely dry. Danger: Seagrass should not be loosened with force-intensive compression and shaking, as is common with down or synthetic fiber pillows. In order to maintain the good moisture absorption and the pleasant feel of these plant-based grass fillings, we recommend opening the pillow using the zipper if necessary and loosening and plucking the filling with your hands. This is gentler and avoids breaking the fine grasses.
