Chilis, the small hot peppers, came to Europe with the Spanish seafarers in the 16th century and spread from here throughout Asia. The yellow, small, round Lemon Drops chili comes from South America and has also been used in Cultivated in Europe. Due to their hotness, chillies are particularly popular for seasoning food that perishes quickly. On the Scoville hotness scale, which goes up to 16 million units, they are at 40,000 units and are therefore hotter than jalapeños, but not as hot as habaneros. In addition to the hotness, the lemon drops chili is characterized by its pronounced lemon aroma. Our highly aromatic organic chili powder is obtained from the yellow pods by slow, gentle drying that preserves the aroma and grinding of the fruit shell without the seeds and stalks. The powder gives salads a wonderfully fruity-spicy note. You can also mix it into your barbecue marinades, for example, or into other spice mixtures that you prefer to have fiery hot.
