Hello, I'm Julia. I am originally a biologist, and in 2015 I designed my first small stationery edition. I now design and illustrate paper products, am an enthusiastic screen printer and learn something new every day.
Stift17 stands for fine stationery, illustrations and screen printing. It started with the idea of designing and producing small editions of paper goods with handmade illustrations.
In 2015, the first small stationery edition was created, and in 2016 I dared to take the step into self-employment. Since then, we have been producing drawn motifs - sometimes analogue, sometimes digital -, screen prints from our own factory and finishing in cooperation with local printing companies. The unifying element was and is the ever-wonderful diversity of the biological world. It shapes all motifs and also the environmentally friendly production of high-quality and long-lasting paper goods.
At first I coated my screens myself, using a construction site lamp, tea lights and a hair dryer in my bathroom. The first prints were made in our living room, where I laid them out to dry overnight. The books took up more and more space, the greeting cards became more numerous.
Finally, the opportunity to move into an office arose for me. It developed step by step from a desk space to my workplace, it became my warehouse and finally my small printing workshop. Today it is my creative space.
