The family-run winery Vega Aixalà is located almost 2 hours west of Barcelona in the mountains of the Conca de Barberà region, which adjoins the world-famous Priorat area. At an altitude of 850-900 meters, the Vega family cultivates 10 hectares of terraced land on black slate soil, making only about 30.000 bottles a year. They have marked the exact number of each variety on the label. Here at Vega Aixalà Garnatxa Blanca there are only 2,800 bottles. Eva, the daughter of the Vega family, is the winemaker of these absolutely fine and velvety natural wines. The name Emma comes from Eva’s daughter. This outstanding orange wine Vega Aixalà Garnatxa Blanca comes from 100% Grenache Blanc grapes that were fermented in stainless steel tanks and left on the mash for 5 days. The subsequent 6 months in the amphora round the whole thing off perfectly. In the mouth we find notes of maple syrup, tropical fruits and an almost imperceptible bitter note. Unfiltered with no added sulfites. Goes perfectly with air-dried ham, sausage and strong cheese.
