This beautiful photo frame has been made from mango wood, one of the most sustainable woods known to man. The photo frame’s refreshingly simple design celebrates the natural beauty and rich colour of mango wood and makes it the perfect frame for any picture. Please see our other listings) The frame comes with a glass window to display and protect the photograph behind. At the back is a stand for display on e.g. a shelf. You can use the frame for both portrait or landscape pictures. Standing frame only, not for wall mounting. All our mango wood products are hand carved by WFTO (World Fair Trade Organisation) accredited producer, 'Noah’s Ark' in India. They are made entirely by hand using traditional skills handed down from generation to generation. By making a purchase, you are helping to continue the fantastic work of our producers. Mango trees have an extremely long life but eventually do stop bearing fruit and are replaced by younger trees. As India produces, by far, the most mangos in the world this results in a massive industry using one of the most sustainable woods known to man. This product has been made by Noah’s Ark, a fantastic member of both the World Fair Trade Organisation (WFTO) and Fair Trade Forum India. With their mission to commit themselves and the producer groups they work with to Fair Trade principles, their goal is to change the lives of grassroots artisans. The organisation works with around 49 talented producer groups, representing approximately 500 artisans collectively working towards the eradication of poverty. Their focus on education and capacity building enables the people they support to become more aware of fair working conditions and the environment, in order to promote the value, cultural heritage and beauty of their handmade products.
