The 4-spice blend has its origins in Jamaican pepper, Pimenta Dioica, a very fragrant berry also called all-spice or allspice.  It is so named because its leaves, once crushed, release notes of clove, nutmeg, sometimes ginger, and of course, pepper.   This is how allspice became a mixture of 4 distinct spices: pepper, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove.   What to use 4 spices with?  This versatile assembly will accompany your meats such as chicken, terrines or pâtés, as well as your cucurbit vegetables (squash, pumpkin, etc.)in all their forms: in soup, fried, grilled… As for dessert, you have probably already incorporated it into your shortbread and cake batters.   It also goes very well with fruit: sprinkled directly on pineapple, apple, pear or apricot, it will work wonders.   Finally, don’t hesitate to add it to your compotes and jams!  Little tip: add 1 to 2 teaspoons of our 4-spice mixture to the preparation of your gingerbread to vary the pleasures.   Our 4 spices are available in glass bottles of 55 g and 110 g, or in refill bags of 250 g.  Store it in a dry, cool place, away from light.   The spices do not expire, but we recommend using them within 48 months to preserve the full intensity of their aromas.
