CERTIFIED ORGANIC VIJAYA Shelled Buckwheat Seed is part of our range of local products. Naturally gluten-free, rich in proteins, vitamins and minerals, this small seed from a plant of the Polygonaceae family will enhance savory and sweet dishes, giving them a subtle nutty flavor... HOW TO CONSUME IT: + Grilled, also known as "kasha". To do this: toast the seeds in a frying pan over medium heat, stirring constantly, until a light golden color is obtained without browning (about 4 to 5 minutes maximum). To keep its crunchiness, kasha can be eaten incorporated into a salad, dairy, muesli, porridge, or sprinkled on a pie or a verrine of mascarpone and fruit. It will also delight the eyes and the taste buds, sprinkled on a plate of smoked salmon and slices of mozzarella with a drizzle of olive oil. Incorporated into a vegetable soup, or a quiche. Cooked in water for about 5 minutes then drained and garnished with a knob of butter, the kasha will accompany meat and fish. + Risotto style, as a substitute for rice. + As an infusion, known as "sobacha", a recipe from Japan. To do this, infuse your freshly made kasha for 5 minutes in simmering water. Unroasted, the buckwheat seed can be cooked in salted water for 15 minutes and accompany salads, meat and fish. + Sprouted (in just 2 days), on a salad or ice cream. STORAGE TIPS: In order to keep all its qualities, we advise you to keep this product in a cool, dry place, away from air and light.
