Chicken Hut Dictionary, Washington D.C. 1940s - A3+ (329x483mm, 13x19 inch) Archival Print (Unframed)

This 1940s “chicken dictionary” is a marvellous example of the creativity and wit of vintage menu art. It was designed for The Chicken Hut restaurant in Washington DC. Using the motto – “an unusual eating place where Chicken is King,” the restaurant offered seventeen chicken dishes which are beautifully illustrated and humorously described. There’s even a chicken barman ready to serve with the words: “what’ll it be, gents? Courtesy Private Collection. EACH PRINT IS ACCOMPANIED BY A COPY OF THE INTERIOR MENU WHERE AVAILABLE.
