Cocktails, Hotel Manteo Cold Spring NY 1933 - A4 (210x297mm) Archival Print (Unframed)

These cocktail images were created shortly after the repeal of Prohibition in December 1933 in the state of New York, hence their celebratory air. Everyone is a little tipsy, including Manhattan’s newest skyscraper, the Empire State Building, which had been completed in 1931. The drawings come from a drinks menu from the Hotel Manteo in Cold Spring, New York and are a fine example of imaginative vintage menu artwork. The McCaffrey family ran this establishment from the early 1900s until 1978. The original building is still there and is now occupied by a bar called Whistling Willies. Images taken from a Hotel Manteo Cocktail Menu, Cold Spring NY 1930s. Designed by Jodi Kostelnik. Courtesy Private Collection EACH PRINT IS ACCOMPANIED BY A COPY OF THE INTERIOR MENU WHERE AVAILABLE. WE MAKE OUR PRINTS WITH ARCHIVAL-QUALITY FINE ART PAPER, USING PROFESSIONAL PIGMENT INKS. PROPERLY FRAMED OR STORED, OUR PRINTS WILL LAST 70+ YEARS WITHOUT FADING OR DISCOLOURING.
