The Flying Lobster, New York 1940s - A4 (210x297mm) Archival Print (Unframed)

A marvelous example of the ingenuity of menu artists, this 1940s cover illustrates how fresh lobsters were transported daily from Maine to New York – on the Flying Lobster plane. A giant lobster, its claws extended like wings, is superimposed on the body of an airplane. The Flying Lobster was a New York restaurant located in mid-town in the 1940s. The interior of the menu also has charming images – happy clams, dancing shrimp and singing salads. Courtesy Private Collection. EACH PRINT IS ACCOMPANIED BY A COPY OF THE INTERIOR MENU WHERE AVAILABLE. ALL PRINTS COME WITH A WHITE BORDER, FOR EASE OF FRAMING.  WE MAKE OUR PRINTS WITH ARCHIVAL-QUALITY FINE ART PAPER, USING PROFESSIONAL PIGMENT INKS.
