This illustration inspired by Japanese culture represents a cat leaving a restaurant in the snow. He wears a rice straw coat called mino which was widely used in the countryside to protect himself from bad weather. In the background, we see part of the restaurant's noren (traditional Japanese curtain) on which we see a fish as well as the first characters of the word neufumi (ねずみ) which means mouse/rat.
