Its fresh, camphorous and slightly spicy scent offers a feeling of vigor and revitalization. White borneol thyme is a small perennial shrub that generally reaches a height of 30 to 50 centimeters. 

It grows in Mediterranean regions, preferring well-drained, sunny soils. 

It is adapted to hot, dry climates, and can survive in drought conditions. The name “white borneol thyme” refers to the presence of the chemical compound borneol in its essential oil, which gives it its distinctive scent. Thyme has a long history of use in traditions and folklore. 

In ancient Greece, it was associated with strength and courage. 

Greek soldiers wore woven crowns of thyme when they went to war.
