Anita is an Irish artist who loves nature. Her studio in the countryside overlooks the green pastures of Ireland's Ancient East. Her work is inspired by the meadows, canals, bogs, gardens, animals, birds and heritage sites which surround her.
Anita is a graduate of textile design from the National College of Art and Design Dublin. After many years teaching she is now a full time professional artist living the dream of creating art that is joyful, colourful and positive. Anita combines her love of hiking and photography to gather inspiration for her work. Starting with a drawing on white cotton her textile pieces are created with colourful dyes and stitches. With batik and then embroidery techniques she sings nature's praises through colour, pattern and texture.
Her finished textile pieces are quilted leaving them raised in relief and then presented in a high quality white box frame. Each miniature landscape or bird is unique with hand stitched embellishments capturing the details beautifully. Her pieces make exquisite gifts for the discerning buyer.
