¿HOW DID BALIMBA START?
In search of my NATURAL POWER
Let me introduce myself: my name is Lidia and I am the creator of Balimba, this being my third project related to fashion.
Since I was very little I have been surrounded by fabrics and other clothing and fashion accessories, without forgetting my beloved patterns, which as a child I liked so much to be used as a model :) Tribute here to my grandmother who worked for one of the most important designers in the history of Spanish fashion.
Although my studies began with Advertising and Digital Marketing (to which I have dedicated part of my life in agencies and a well-known American Multinational) I expanded my knowledge at the “Fashion Institute of Technology” in New York on Applied Fashion, where it began. my passion for fashion, traveling and discovering trends and cultures.
And on one of those trips, it was really in BALI, the origin of everything.
BALI & LIMBO
My visit to the island in 2017 was definitely the inspiration for the exciting BALIMBA project
I was going through a moment of transition in my life: THE SEARCH FOR MY AUTHENTIC NATURAL POWER, both personally and professionally - My LIMBO moment.
Although jewelry was already part of my life, it was not until that moment, inspired by the nature and strength of the Indonesian island, that I felt how the color, the power of STONES and NATURE told me that my search was over.
I had finally found my Natural Power again, which I felt I had lost.
Although I have spent most of my life abroad, later, I decided to return to my origins: Galicia (Spain), and there I began to create and manufacture the first BALIMBA collection. Since in the end the "land" is important and it also gives us the possibility of managing the entire production chain from start to finish: From DESIGN to SHIPPING to all of you.
