Les Bastides, AOP Faugères, vintage 2018

"Les Bastides d´Alquier" is a wine for laying down which is best tasted with the powerful and intense nose. A magical terroir, made up of Syrahs planted in 1967 in mass selection from the Rhône Valley and which expresses itself wonderfully on the schist of Faugères. The blend of old Syrah, Grenache Noir and Mourvèdre is aged for 18 months in oak barrels. The palate is elegant, silky with fine and supple tannins, a beautiful harmony of liquorice and smoke. Lots of length for a finish that will reveal the scrubland around the vines. A wine of great gastronomy.
