This coffee owes its name to the Brazilian city of Maragogype in the state of Bahia where it was discovered in 1870 for the first time. Known in English-speaking countries as "Elephant Coffee Beans", its beans have the particularity of being 2 to 3 times larger than those of other varieties of coffee.
