Different varieties of coffee are grown in Nicaragua: Typica, Bourbon, Maragogype, Caturra, and Pacas. Maragogype beans take their name from a city in Brazil where they were first discovered. Also called “elephant beans,” they are distinguished by their abnormally large size, undeniable quality, and offer a smooth, almost creamy cup.
