In 2001, two close friends (Mike and Ian) set up the Porter and Woodman Group after combining their hamper business with a wood manufacturing company.
The Group has grown somewhat and, in 2020, was taken over by our two existing directors, Matt and Andy, who were responsible for adding new ideas and energy to the company. At present we run four websites, all complementing one another at various times of the year.
Growth in all areas has seen staff numbers rising from an initial 15 to over 60 today. We are now the largest private employer within Stourbridge and have a deeply felt duty of care to both our employees and the local community.
The family firm values of honesty and fairness, safety and security, loyalty and respect are applied whether dealing with customers, suppliers or staff. This has not only led to staff remaining with us for many years but has also created numerous loyal customers who have bought from us over successive seasons.
