For very dirty laundry, you can also add washing balls. Can soap nuts be used for hand washing? Yes, but for this it is better to prepare a decoction and use it as a washing liquid. To do this, after using 100 g of walnuts, let them infuse for 10 minutes in 1 liter of boiling water. Filter the water, squeeze the nuts in your hands and you will get a liquid detergent. The strengths of ecological soap nuts It is a natural and vegetable alternative to washing powder. Soapnuts clean the textile fiber perfectly and thoroughly, thanks to the saponin they naturally contain. They do not have bleaching agents or optical brighteners which can damage certain fabrics. The laundry comes out soft, completely clean and you can use these nuts with any type of fabric without distinction, even the most fragile (wool, silk, linen, angora, etc.). Finally, it is a zero waste alternative to conventional detergent, much more economical and healthy. After use, the soapnut shells can be thrown in the compost or directly in your garden to create natural and vegetable soil. You can use the decoction to wash clothes by hand, but also to wash your skin and your hair, especially if you tend to have dandruff.
