For several years, the idea of selling men's fashion accessories had been in my head. But I was hesitant to throw myself into the task at hand. Following a trip to an Italian friend's, I saw that he was making bow ties for his personal use with scraps of leather, and that without complex. It was the trigger, as soon as I returned to Rouen, I bought some fabric, took my grandmother's old sewing machine and I made my first bow tie, then a second and another, until I no longer stop and keep improving my creations.
I wanted to create bow ties that I wanted to wear, but couldn't find on the market. I wanted them to be worn for any occasion and not just for big ceremonies like weddings.
This is how I quickly created "Rock Dandy", a mix of ease of wear and elegance. It sums up the image of Colbeau that I wanted: elegant and easy to wear.
This is also why I decided to make fixed knots and not to tie, because you don't necessarily want to try several times in the morning to tie a successful knot. On the other hand, they are constructed like bow ties to be tied to bring all their thickness and charm.
Each bow tie is handcrafted. I take the time to make them with passion so that it brings you as much satisfaction for you to wear them as I do to make them.
I make my bow ties in Rouen at home in my workshop.
