GIN OLD TOM

Red Fruits, Slightly sweet with Hibiscus flowers, Spice with Fenugreek. The name Old Tom Gin is said to come from the signs in the shape of a black cat (an Old Tom) that we saw in the 18th century on the walls of some British pubs. Because of the Gin Craze, the British government attempted to stem the production and distribution of gin with prohibitive taxes, leading to the development of a black market. Under the sign in the shape of a black cat was a slot for inserting money and a hose. From the pipe came gin, poured by the bartender from inside. This is how Old Tom Gin was born and developed across the Channel.
