The Sissy Squat (named after the Greek mythological king Sisyphus) is one of the best exercises for the thigh muscles (quadriceps). Since stability and balance are the most important components, the core muscles are also activated. If you perform the exercise regularly and correctly, you improve the strength of the quadriceps and balance the strength of the anterior muscles and glutes. Even though the exercise may not seem comfortable for the knees, the opposite is true. When performed properly, the knees are even more relieved than with other leg muscle exercises.
