It was at the beginning of the Roaring Twenties, at the Banquet de Massais, the annual meeting point for local business travelers. In 1922, after a well-watered banquet, during a fishing trip, Émile Deacon pulls a red, well-cooked lobster from the river. In 1926, inspired by this farce concocted by his friends, Émile announced with great fanfare the birth of his cinchona aperitif Duhomard! An aperitif that will forever remain the symbol of sharing and conviviality in the region. We invite you to enjoy our Cinchona aperitif Duhomard Rouge chilled, plain or with ice cubes. It goes wonderfully with a slice of lemon or sparkling water. Dulobard Rouge is an aromatized wine-based drink. It was made from natural aromas of gentian, sweet and bitter orange peel. 1 liter – 14.2% vol. It contains sulphites and quinine. THE AUTHENTIC RECIPE Aficionados all blush with pleasure when tasting this subtle blend of wine, spices and aromatic plants. Gentian for its raw and wild flavour. Peels of sweet and bitter oranges for their strength and sweetness. It is even said that wines flavored with plants, also called cinchona aperitifs, have therapeutic virtues... Do not see this as an excuse to consume them on an empty stomach, like the traditional spoonful of cod liver oil from our grandmothers! A little patience, it's almost aperitif time!
